Our Director

Welcome to BJEP, at least, virtually!

My name is Cantor Jeri Robins and I am BJEP’s Education Director. I was ordained from the School of Jewish Music at Hebrew College in 2013 and also earned a Master’s in Jewish Education from the Shoolman School of Graduate Education. My Jewish communal background includes serving as Cantor and Director of Education, as well as teaching in supplemental religious schools, directing the Jewish programming at an overnight camp, and working with seniors in an independent and assisted living community. When I am not at BJEP, I teach religious school, tutor B’nei Mitzvah students privately, and lead services.  As BJEP Director, I also bring previous business experiences as an Executive Recruiter and roles in marketing, strategy and finance to my work.

Personally, I am an avid yogi and love to walk or jog, ski in the winter to get through the cold weather months, and spend time with family and friends. I enjoy cooking and trying new recipes, reading books of all kinds and playing board games with my children.

BJEP is a place where kids come to have fun, make friends and love being Jewish. I am eager to learn each of your stories as we lift up the rich diversity of families in our community. I believe that we must bring life to Torah and Torah to life. Our shared task is to grow in joy and understanding, to be creative and rigorous in our learning, and to be playful, patient and kind with one another.

I am always available to answer questions. I welcome your feedback, ideas and friendship.

L’Shalom / in peace,

Cantor Jeri Robins, MJEd

  • Family Mitzvah Day - All Are Welcome!
    Time: 9:30 am - 12:00 pm

This special Family Day is designed to celebrate the BJEP community. Please plan to stay at Family Table with your children.

There is nothing that feels better than helping others. Please join us to participate in a variety of activities, appropriate for different age groups, BJEP is able to give back to the community, both in Waltham and beyond. Some projects include making sandwiches for the homeless, making dog toys for animals in the shelter, making cards with inspirational messages for kids and young people who are in need. BJEP's Mitzvah Day is one of our favorite days of the year! In the Torah, we learn "na-aseh v'nishma," which means "we will do and we will listen/understand." Our sages understood that, sometimes, the best learning happens through doing!

Interested in cultivating your child’s authentic connection to Jewish tradition, culture, and values? Looking for an independent Hebrew School with passionate teachers and a fun curriculum? Seeking to become a part of a Jewish community?
