Checking in on our Community

While BJEP’s Board continues discussions these past few weeks on a variety of important topics, our first priority is to check on the well-being of our BJEP community in these unprecedented times.

Debbie Friedman, z”l, a Jewish singer/songwriter who was a leader in composing contemporary Jewish songs, wrote a beautiful prayer for healing. We share these words with you below, as well as this link to see her perform it. Mi SheBeirach (may the One who blesses) is the traditional prayer for the sick.

Mi shebeirach avoteinu
M’kor hab’rachah l’imoteinu
May the source of strength,
Who blessed the ones before us,
Help us find the courage
To make our lives a blessing.
And let us say, Amen.

Mi shebeirach imoteinu
M’kor hab’rachah l’avoteinu
Bless those in need of healing
With r’fuah sh’leimah,
The renewal of body,
The renewal of spirit,
And, let us say, Amen.

Thinking healing thoughts for our community.
