Be In the Room Where it Happens / Hanukkah Lights Pop-up
December 10 @ 5:30 pm - 6:00 pm
Whether you’re experts at Hanukkah songs and blessings, or you’re still just trying to remember the tune from year-to-year, come join Rabbi Myra for a BJEP Community Candle Lighting on the first night of Hanukkah! We will sing some festive songs, light candles and do blessings, and each family will have an opportunity to enjoy a few moments of learning and sharing together to kick off the start of the holiday. All you need is your Hanukkiah, some candles, and a match, and we’ll bring the blessings, the learning, and the community of warmth to share it with!
Check out the Hanukkah Hub from our friends at PJ Library for some recipes, book lists, activities, and much more. What more about the holiday itself? Our friends at 18Doors created a Hanukah booklet to explain the history of Hanukkah, the symbolism and significance of lighting candles for eight nights, the blessings that accompany the lighting of the candles, the holiday’s foods, the game of dreidels, and more. #Jewishtraditions #Hanukkah, #Hanukkah Rituals.
Register for BJEP’s monthly e-newsletter (arrives directly to your Inbox) to hear about this exciting pop-up event on the first night of Hanukkah, and more about BJEP’s program that brings joy and amazement to our K-7th grade classrooms.
