March 17: Bonaparté Magic Show, Aerialist & Purim Carnival

Where can you find a welcoming family atmosphere to enjoy magic, an acrobatic performer, carnival games and rich age-appropriate discussions about social justice issues that shape our world today? We are excited to open our doors and invite you to join BJEP for a family Purim Day. This event is geared for families with children ages 4 to 12. As is the tradition on Purim, we encourage you to come in costumes.

Purim Party Schedule:
9:30am: Purim Spiel (Purim Play)

10:00 am: Age Appropriate Social Justice Discussions
10:30am: Bonaparté Magic Show & Purim Carnival
11:50am: Pizza Party (with pizza for sale), Aerialist & Raffle Winners Announced

While this event is free, we recommend you bring some cash if you would like to buy pizza and hamantashen at our Pizza Party Fundraiser or if you’d like to enter fun raffles for the chance to win prizes.

April 7: Chocolate Seder: Blood, frogs, locusts, Hershey kisses, Tootsie Rolls, and chocolate-covered Matzo is all included in our unique BJEP Chocolate Seder. Please join us for a chocolaty twist to celebrate

Passover. This event is geared for families with children ages 5 to 12.

10:30am: Sign-in, Welcome Scavenger Hunt and Parent Lounge with Coffee and Bagels
11:00am-12:00pm: Chocolate Seder (We will begin promptly at 11am)

April 28: Family Mitzvah Day: There is nothing that feels better than helping others. Please join us to participate in a variety of activities to help out the local community, including making sandwiches for homeless clients; making dog toys for animals in a shelter; making cards with inspirational messages for kids and young people who are in need; decorating clay pots and planting seeds for seniors; writing letters to support important causes, such as climate change; and more!  Join us for a Bring Your Own Picnic lunch after we finish the projects. Recommended for ages 5 plus. Event will take place rain or shine.

    BJEP Jewish Sunday School, an independent, vibrant and inclusive Jewish learning community, from pre-K to Grade 7, invites the community to join us for Opening Day/Open House as we begin the 2019-2020 school year.

    Through an interactive curriculum, BJEP (pronounced B-Jep) instills in our students a sense of joy and belonging within the Jewish community and knowledge of Jewish traditions and the Hebrew language.

    BJEP meets once a week on Sunday mornings on the Brandeis campus, with Brandeis students teaching our dynamic, experiential curriculum. We also engage parents with family programming and festive celebrations throughout the year.

    Sundays once a month on the Brandeis campus

    Jewish Holidays and Values through Creative Arts
    Through movement, song, and art, we will impart in your child a joyful association with Jewish traditions and seed a positive Jewish identity.

    Parenting Through a Jewish Lens, sponsored by CJP and Hebrew College
    This is a unique opportunity to meet other parents, support one another in parenting, and think together about Judaism.**

    8 Sunday mornings, 9:30 am -12 pm
    Sept. 15, Oct. 20, Nov. 10, Dec. 8, Jan. 19, Feb. 9, Mar. 1 & 29.

    ** Parenting Through a Jewish Lens will be offered for an additional charge if there is enough interest and will include babysitting for younger children.

    The morning schedule includes:
    Parents and kids sing together (with our music teacher)
    Kids learn and play with their teacher
    Bagels and shmoozing for parents and kids

    The High Holidays are a time to gather joyfully in community, share stories, sing songs and reflect on the year. BJEP: Jewish Sunday School  is having a High Holiday Family Services at Brandeis University that will integrate tradition and creativity. Join us!
     
    Rosh Hashanah: September 30, 2019 at 2:30 pm (Monday)
    Yom Kippur: October 9, 2019  at 2:30 pm (Wednesday)
     
    Services run a little over an hour. These services include Hebrew and English prayers, Jewish songs, and a creative Torah reading. While children of all ages are welcome, the experience will be most meaningful for children ages 4 and up. There will be a book corner available for younger children. On Rosh Hashanah, there will be a light Kiddish following the service.

    Registration Open: High Holiday Ticket Price is $136 per BJEP family and $180 per non-BJEP Family.
