Parent Learning

At BJEP, the opportunities for learning abound, including for parents and caregivers.  While our kids are in class, we explore topics relevant to modern Jewish lives in an inclusive, comfortable setting where we are encouraged to voice our opinions and share our perspectives.

2022 Program Launch!

Coffee & Conversation Series launch:The Not-So-Hidden Torah of Everyday Life

Ever received one of those BJEP Sunday email updates and wished you too could do some Jewish learning? Curious to connect with other BJEP parents? Longing for another way to tap into BJEP community? Join BJEP Education Director, Rabbinical Student, baker, and bibliophile Heather Renetzky for lively, text-based, heart-driven discussion about the not-so-hidden Torah of everyday life.  Bring your curiosity and interest in shared experiences. We’ll bring the books, the babka, and maybe some other surprises. Meeting dates/times for this in-person program:  10-11am on January 30, March 13, and March 27.  Attend one session or attend all three. No cost required. RSVP here.

Historical Reference….

In prior years, BJEP hosted the 6-week Parenting Through a Jewish Lens program (or Parenting Tweens version).  Open to those enrolled in the school program, or in the area and available to visit campus on a Sunday morning. Topics covered included: Shabbat: A Time to Reconnect and Recharge and Parenting for Resiliency.  Led by Hebrew College with CJP support, this course provided a great way to learn about Judaism while meeting other parents and caregivers.   During the Covid-pandemic, and until further notice, this program has taken a pause.
